WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
This course is for teachers who are interested in studying culture within their classroom, especially when teaching a language. It offers an insight into contemporary issues in British life and culture and increases confidence in sourcing and adapting authentic materials to use in class. However, it can be adapted to any culture that is being studied in the classroom.
COURSE OUTLINE
This course explores the language, literature and contemporary culture of modern Britain. It also includes guided visits and excursions in and around London. The methodologies utilised during the course will form discussion during the course. The teacher will demonstrate teaching techniques indirectly as they lead the classes.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
- To increase confidence in sourcing and adapting up-to-date authentic materials for use in class
- To gain a greater awareness of contemporary issues and culture in Britain
- To share teaching experiences with other professionals
