Teaching English to very young learners – ALP-T2
ALPHA School of English

This language course will enable educational practitioners to improve their skills of teaching, supporting and motivating very young learners of English. It aims to provide fun and practical ideas in a professional environment where all those taking part can share their best practice and ideas. At the beginning of the week, a young learner curriculum will be developed and throughout the week participants will consider how activities can be used to meet this curriculum.

Areas covered in this course include language for classroom management and communication, psycholinguistics, the design of materials, the use of songs, games, drama, art, and storytelling in the pre-school English classroom. Also includes mid-week training days held in Valletta and Mdina where participants have the opportunity to view some of the historical and cultural sights while carrying out practical training.
