Description of Course Contents
You will focus on methodology and techniques which allow you to implement your teaching plans most effectively. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of the following areas: effective use of classroom language, effective classroom management techniques, exploiting materials and activities (storytelling; games; songs), ways of introducing and practising new language, encouraging learner independence, motivating primary school children, maintaining discipline
Target Groups
You’ll be an experienced or new teacher at primary level with an upper intermediate level of English equivalent to FCE level or B2 on the Common European Framework (CEF). You’ll teach English to 5-10 year olds as part of the general curriculum for primary schools. native and non-native speakers of English.
Aims of course
• have developed and raised awareness of methodology related to teaching primary school children
• have been introduced to a variety of practical teaching activities and materials
• have improved their classroom management skills
